Fleshing Out A Character

Characters. In my opinion, they’re the most important thing about a novel, even more important than plot. A character is the heart and soul of the story and that’s why it’s necessary to flesh out a real and well-rounded character that practically leaps from the page.

If your character is underdeveloped, you risk the reader never connecting with the story you are telling and that would be detrimental.

For so long I’ve seen this book circulating on Tumblr and Goodreads, it’s so popular and well loved and I after reading it, I can really appreciate why!

Amy Does NaNoWriMo: Update 2

It’s NaNoWriMo day 22 and I have written approx 200 words! WOO!

I swear, I tried! I started off very hopeful but, as has been the norm for the last few NaNos, life got in the way. It’s an easy excuse but it’s all I’ve got.

That’s not to say I haven’t tried. I’ve sat down and stared at my laptop for half an hour without typing a single word. It’s been hard because I really wanted to utilise this month and get a lot of writing done.
