I’ve hit the 30k mark, I repeat, I have hit the 30k mark!
Wooohoo, writing progress! I have finally written 30,000 words for my beloved The Witches of Belle River. Recently I have been super productive with my writing, thanks to a few different writing incentives I have implemented. I’m trying to write 2,000 words a week, which may seem low for some people, but considering the writer’s block wormhole I’ve been in for the last few months, this has been a great start.
So I’m at 30k, which essentially means I have another 30 or so thousand words left to write! No big deal. If I can write 2,000 words a week consistently, that would mean this manuscript could be done in 15 weeks… which seems mighty optimistic to me, but let’s stay positive.
There are 20 more weeks left in 2018, and really I would love for the first draft to be finished by then. I know it still might be a stretch, but I’m really hoping I can keep up this burst of motivation (and inspiration) and get it done!
Goals are always so handy to have. I think this is part of the reason my writing has been good this past month or so. I’ve set weekly goals and really pushed myself to reach them.
At the moment I’m writing a really fun scene where a few key characters have finally met! I love writing these dramatic and exciting scenes because so much is going on, it just about writes itself.
Nothing is perfect so far. A lot of this draft is just trying to get the plot and ideas out of my head and onto the page. I’ve already made some massive plot changes which I’ll work into the second draft.
I’m so excited and optimistic about this story and I really feel like it will be enjoyed by readers which is pushing me to continue.
I’ll update you all again soon on the progress so make sure to follow!
