Hey guys! I’m here today to have a quick chat about an amazing Melbourne festival that’s on at this very moment!
The Emerging Writers’ Festival is an incredible opportunity for young writers to immerse themselves in the world of books! The EWF offers heaps of fun and interesting masterclasses, panels and other events that are so inspiring to be a part of. It’s on right now and goes until the 23rd of June! This year I actually decided to volunteer at the EWF this year. It was a great decision and I’d REALLY recommend it to anyone who wants to work in the book industry in any way because it’s a great chance to make connections and meet authors, publishers and other bookish friends!
This year I actually decided to volunteer at the EWF with two of my friends to help out in running some events. It was a great decision and I’d highly recommend it to anyone who wants to work in the book industry in any way because it’s a great chance to make connections and meet authors, publishers and other bookish friends!
I volunteered at two events, the National Writers’ Conference and the Short Story Masterclass.
The National Writers’ Conference was such a cool experience! Seeing so many eager young writers running around, all so excited to hear other writers talk about their experiences was a really heartwarming thing. It’s nice to know there is such a huge community in Melbourne, filled with collaborative people who all want the same thing, to write!
The Short Story Masterclass was an event that I participated in and also volunteered at in the second half. I really enjoyed it! All of the artists were interesting and had great information to pass on to the crowd. The discussion titled #Winning was all about entering competitions and I found that panel was very inspiring and made me really consider competitions again.
Tonight I’m going to an awesome event that is being held at the Workers Club. It’s titled, Songs and Stories of Home. I’m really looking forward to it as there is a great lineup. For more information on it, check out this link!
If you haven’t had a chance to go to an event yet you haven’t missed your chance! The festival runs until June 23 and there are still a bunch of cool events on! Everyone at the EWF, staff, volunteers, artists and the audience, are cool and friendly people. The vibe of the whole festivals is welcoming, accepting and inspiring. I cannot recommend this festival enough! You’ll walk away with such a renewed sense of creativity and hopefully, some new ideas on how to achieve your goals!
