Failure is shitty, let’s be real. But failure is also something we can learn from.

I did NaNoWriMo this year, or I said I was doing it. I didn’t write 50,000 words. Maybe 200, but definitely not 50,000. So what does this mean for me?

I’m not upset, I could have done better but I didn’t and I’m not going to guilt trip myself about it. Instead, I’m taking this experience and learning from it.

It’s NaNoWriMo day 22 and I have written approx 200 words! WOO!

I swear, I tried! I started off very hopeful but, as has been the norm for the last few NaNos, life got in the way. It’s an easy excuse but it’s all I’ve got.

That’s not to say I haven’t tried. I’ve sat down and stared at my laptop for half an hour without typing a single word. It’s been hard because I really wanted to utilise this month and get a lot of writing done.
